BJ Hengelmann, PT

BJ Hengelmann, PT, has been the owner and Director of Creekside Physical Therapy since 1985. She received her BS Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1970. Since 1982 she has specialized in the treatment of TMJ dysfunction, headaches, and cervical spine disorders. She has received extensive training and has spoken at state and local dental and physical therapy conferences and educational programs on physical therapy treatment of TMD. In 2003 she expanded her expertise to include the area of Women’s Health and pelvic floor dysfunction. In 1999 Creekside PT participated with five other private practice clinics to form Therapy Partners, a MSO. Therapy Partners has since grown to over 30 Physical Therapy practices, privately owned. In 2016 BJ moved her practice to share space with Twin Cities TMJ and Facial Pain Clinic in Edina. She now focuses her care in the treatment of patients with TMJ dysfunction, headaches, and cervical spine disorders. She is an avid gardener and enjoys her pets, reading, birding, and nature.

Kristin van Wyk, MPT

Kristin van Wyk, MPT, received her BA in biology from St Olaf College in 1993 and her MPT from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota in 1997. She is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Prior to joining Creekside PT in 2006, she worked for six years in general orthopedics and sports rehabilitation at Minnesota Sport and Spine Rehab. Since 2006 she has expanded her skills to include the evaluation and treatment of patients with TMJ disorders receiving training at the University of Minnesota Dental School and working directly with BJ Hengelmann. She has also developed an interest in working with geriatric conditions along with pursuing continuing education in the area of cervical spine and extremity disorders. She is married with two very active children. Her interests include summer and winter outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.
